Blue and Blush

Here's what I wore for our Friday Night Date Night. We went out to dinner, had a leisurely espresso (extra foam, of course) at our local coffee haunt, strolled around the artists' market, and went for a late night walk. It was well needed, too, since this past week since we got back from New Orleans has been weird and stressful (and the week before kinda was, too) - the cherry on top involved P's car breaking down on Thursday and consequently driving all over town for car parts. Fortunately, all is fixed now! Here's to a better week next week.

Blue Cotton Dress - Made by me (layered underneath with skirt of same fabric for a little extra fullness)
Blush Pink Cardigan - H&M
Ballet Flats - Off Broadway

Bird Earrings - H&M

I suppose this dress could officially be considered my last "summer" sewing project. It somehow kept getting pushed to the bottom of my sewing list, but I finally finished it up last week. I didn't want it still sitting half finished in my sewing pile next spring. Fortunately, like my pumpkin dress, it's kind of a good, plain transitional dress that suits autumn cardigans perfectly well while still being comfortable enough for the (still) 80 degree days we've been having. I can't really ever seem to make enough dresses like this. My favourite detail is definitely the pintucked hem. It makes the skirt poof out just a little bit more, and adds a pretty little bit of detail, I think.

I'm off to enjoy the rest of my weekend. Have a good one!
